无尽资源采集

March 11, 2016

Dear Colleagues,

Spring fever is here!? I hope everyone is enjoying these unseasonably warm temperatures.? Count me among those hoping that winter is truly in the rearview mirror.

This week, we honor the service of School Committee Member Patti Quigley, whose term ends on Tuesday.? While the work of our School Committee members may be less visible to our staff, they have been and continue to be incredible advocates for our district.? In 无尽资源采集, the commitment of these community volunteers is extraordinary and they devote thousands of hours each year because they believe in the importance of public education.? Patti has been a champion for us these past three years on so many fronts and, in particular, has been a driving force behind the new track and field project for the high school, which will be completed this summer.? Please join me in thanking Patti for her service to our community.

I’d also like to highlight two important events scheduled in the coming week focused on mental health and adolescent stress.? On Tuesday, March 15th, the Middle School PTO is hosting, “Family Matters: Helping Adolescents Manage Stress” at 7PM in the WMS Auditorium.? On Wednesday, March 16th, the High School PTSO is hosting, “An Evening Forum on Adolescent Mental Health and Wellness” at 7PM in the WHS Library.? Rob Evans from HRS will be a featured speaker at both events.? Given our continued focus on social emotional learning, I encourage staff to join our community at these important events.

Thank you for the important work you do each day for our students and have a great weekend!

Best regards,

David

Have a new idea you’d like to try out in the classroom?? Is there a piece of equipment you know would enrich your students’ learning experience but it’s just not in the budget?? Consider putting together a request for funding from the 无尽资源采集 Education Foundation (WEF).? WEF is now accepting grant proposals from 无尽资源采集 teachers, administrators and specialists for the spring cycle of grants. ?The deadline to submit a proposal for this spring is March 11, 2016.???This spring all proposals and administrative signoffs will be made electronically through the WEF online grant application process.??To access the application, go to the 无尽资源采集 Education Foundation?, click ‘Grants’ and click ‘‘ from the drop down menu.

For more than 25 years, WEF?has been providing grants to educators for innovative educational projects at all grade levels. In awarding grants, WEF works closely with school administrators to fund projects that result in richer and deeper learning experiences and have the potential to impact a large number of students in innovative ways. Criteria used to determine whether to fund a particular grant include (1) innovativeness, (2) potential to affect a large number of students, and (3) potential for replication by other teachers or classrooms.? Last fall, WEF funded nearly $105,000 in teacher and administrator requests.? For additional details and some examples of well-written grants, please visit the?,??click ‘Grants’, click ‘For Educators’ from the drop down menu and click?.
