The post Improved Presenter Toolbar in Google Slides first appeared on Technology Department.]]> Google Workspace just updated the presenter toolbar in Google slides to include the controls you need while presenting with a better experience for both presenters and viewers.

 

When presenting, you’ll now see options for the following:

  • selecting the previous or next slide,
  • select any slide from the picker,
  • the three-dot overflow menu, which will open options for opening speaker notes, auto play, caption preferences and more.

 

Additionally, the size of the presenter bar has been reduces in order to minimize distractions or obstruction of your content. Google condenses the presenter toolbar down to the most essential controls based on customer feedback.

The post Zoom and Multi-Tasking on the iPad first appeared on Technology Department.]]> Students are now able to use the multi-task function on the iPad and their cameras will remain turned on.Ìý The camera only stays on when they are multi-tasking (i.e both apps are open at the same time).Ìý Here is a screenshot of Zoom and Jamboard open at the same time.Ìý Notice that all cameras are still active.Ìý This will also work in a breakout room.

When could this be valuable?ÌýÌý

  • Students who need non-verbal prompting during a lesson.Ìý The student can now have a Google Doc or a Google slide open during a zoom session.Ìý They now have access to their supports outside the zoom session.
  • Listening to text read aloud.Ìý The teacher can read a text aloud and the student can have that document open in a side-by-side window.
  • Following steps for opening an assignment – the teacher can now screen share and the student can follow along in the other window.
