Dear Fiske Families,

A huge shout-out to our amazing students for giving the 无尽资源采集 High School Fiske Seniors a heartfelt send off today! The halls were filled with cheers and signs as our students celebrated the seniors鈥� return to Fiske one last time.We will do a similar clap out for our Fifth grade classes on Friday, June 20 at 11:55 a.m. Parents are welcome to line the sidewalk and cheer them when they walk out the doors.  As we always say, 鈥淥nce a Fiske Falcon, always a Fiske Falcon.鈥� 

This was a busy week. Our fifth grade classes went to Hale for three days, our second grade classes went tide pooling and our third grade classes went to Broadmoor Sanctuary.  None of this could be possible without the support of our amazing PTO, thank you

A Fisketastic thank you to Teri Ebersole and Abi Putnam for the amazing amount of work they did to coordinate and host the Fiske Used Book Fair.  Thank you to the many volunteers who were there to help our students select and purchase books, and to all the families that donated an outstanding selection of books for our children to enjoy.

Dear Fiske Families,

The Used Book Fair is here thanks to the hard work of Teri Ebersole and Abi Putnam! We are also grateful to all the families who donated books. Students will have the opportunity to purchase books for just $0.50 on Tuesday, May 20th, and $0.25 on Wednesday, May 21st. It鈥檚 a great chance to stock up on books for summer reading!

A big thank-you to Mrs. Gerst for her incredible work in preparing an amazing Field Day for our students. We also appreciate all the volunteers who helped run the stations and made the day such a success, fun was had by all!

Student Placement for 2024鈥�2025
As we prepare for next year, we are beginning the student placement process. Your child鈥檚 current teacher will collaborate with a team that includes special educators, ELL teachers, math and literacy specialists, the school psychologist, school social worker/adjustment counselor, and the principal. Together, they will thoughtfully consider class placement.

If you have essential, new information regarding your child鈥檚 placement鈥攅specially if it is something your child鈥檚 current teacher may not be aware of鈥攑lease email me at mcgregorr@wellesleyps.org by Wednesday, May 14. There is no need to send an email if you do not have new information to share. Rest assured that we strive to place every student in a compatible class with at least one friend.

Fiske Families are invited to join us on Wednesday, May 7th at 8:45 a.m. for Music Around the World. Come and see our amazing students showcase songs and dances from across the globe. We hope to see you there.  

Before we dance and sing, we walk and roll. Wednesday, May 7th is National Bike and Roll to school day.  We are also including Walk to School.  Join your neighbors and ride or walk together to school. There are bike racks in the back of the school for those who want to ride to school.  It should be a great event!

Student Placement 2024-2025

As we look forward to next year, we are starting the student placement process.  During this process your child鈥檚 teacher will meet with the placement team that includes special educators, ELL teachers, Math and Literacy Specialists, School Psychologist, School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor and Principal to determine class placement. Only if you have essential information to share relative to your child鈥檚 placement that is either new, or your child鈥檚 teacher may not be aware of, do you need to send me an email (mcgregorr@wellesleyps.org) by Wednesday, May 14th.  An email is not required for your child/children as our placement team will collaborate to ensure each child is in a compatible class with at least one friend.  Please know, we do not under any circumstances accept requests for teachers.

Thank you Erin Bryan, Marie Gipson, Erin Hontvet, Mitali Bixby, Olga Shurchkov, Jill Hegstad, Jackie Taslim,  Julie Krathen and all the committee members for organizing the Palm Paradise Fundraiser for our school. It was a wonderful evening to support our school.

Thank you to Julie Krathen, Mary Ann Fanning and Carolyn Price for arranging for the Bionic Project to come to our school this past week. The Fiske Falcons came together as a school to hear the life stories of amputee soccer players Nico and Javon.  Ally Dana led a discussion around the difference between sympathy and empathy. 

Individual classes later  had the opportunity to meet with the Bionic Team to learn more about adaptive sports and inclusive behaviors.  The overall message was focused on  the goal of working together and building a world that is accessible to all.  Take some time over vacation  to talk with your children about what they learned from our presenters.
