Any Boston resident entering kindergarten through 10th grade may apply to be enrolled in METCO using an\u00a0online portal<\/a>. Participating suburban districts select students with completed applications every year by lottery, based on the number of slots available in each grade in the district. No preference is given based on academic or athletic performance, personal relationships, or financial need.\u00a0<\/em> If not accepted, families can\u00a0re-apply\u00a0<\/strong>every year and have another, equal chance. Siblings are prioritized\u00a0when space is available in an enrolled student’s district.
