Bates Elementary

Dear Bates Families,

There are fewer than two weeks to go until the Bates Mini-Marathon!��In addition to being a fun community event, this year students have the opportunity to fundraise for the �޾��Դ�ɼ� Food Pantry.��Please see thisand for more information.��Families are encouraged to come out and cheer on the runners.��Below are the times each grade will be participating on Wednesday, April 15:

9-9:20 Grade 5
9:30-9:50 Kindergarten
10-10:20 Grade 4
10:30-10:50 Grade 3
11-11:20 Grade 1
11:30-11:50 Grade 2

Please note that the parking lot will be closed and parking will be limited near Bates for the safety of our students.��

As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow in observance of Good Friday.��I hope that our families who celebrate Passover and Easter have a joyful holiday!

Dear Bates Families,

We’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to meet with you for parent teacher conferences over the past few weeks. Thank you for making time for these important conversations and helping us to work in strong partnership with you.��

Bates Mini-Marathon

Mark your calendars for the Bates Mini-Marathon on April 15!�� The Mini Marathon is an all school event in which each grade takes turns running and walking laps around the building for 20 minutes.�� Students have already begun training during PE with Mx. Fyvie, increasing their endurance and learning how to pace themselves.�� Students feel proud of their progress each week.�� Below are a few important details:

Families are warmly invited to cheer enthusiastically for the students from the sidewalk in front of the school, or from the blacktop and playground area in the back.�� No RSVP needed – just show up if you can!��
We encourage all students to wear their Bates Proud t-shirt. It’s always wonderful to see our Bates pride on display during these school-wide events!
The specific times each grade will be running and more information will be shared next week!

As a reminder, next week there is no school on Friday in observance of Good Friday.�� I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Dear Bates Families,

Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who joined us for the Day of Play! Your energy and enthusiasm were invaluable in supporting our student creators — and a special thanks to everyone who stayed to help clean up. Thank you to every Bates educator who supported our students every step of the way, and a heartfelt thank you to our custodian Bob Hurley for making sure all the leftover materials were recycled. The day was a huge success because of you!

Dear Bates Families,

Our students really enjoyed the Book Fair this week at Bates! Thank you to our amazing PTO volunteers who helped make it possible! Thank you also to our families for supporting the joy of reading and books in our students.��

The Day of Play��

The Day of Play is just days away, on Wednesday, March 11. Thank you to all who have volunteered to support our students as they build their cardboard creations throughout the morning. We also appreciate volunteers who are able to help clean up starting around 11:00 am.�� As a reminder, students are welcome to start bringing materials to school on Monday. We look forward to an exciting day!��

Parent teacher conferences are coming up soon. If you have not yet done so, please sign up for a conference with your child’s teacher using the sign up link emailed on February 25. Please note the early release day for students on Thursday, March 26!

Finally, this weekend brings the start of Daylight Saving Time. I look forward to the longer days and warmer weather ahead!�� Have a great weekend.
